Ecophon
Master with alpha surface has a sound absorption factor of 1.0 for
frequencies above 500 Hz, and also has exceptional good absorption
for low frequencies. |
| |
 |
The
surface that gives the highest sound absorption – class A –
is used for wall-to-wall ceiling in lecture rooms and conference halls
with floor areas up to about 100 m2, possibly in combination with
Master gamma (see Figure 1). |

Is
suitable for installation as a full ceiling in music rooms (see Figure
2) for floor areas up to 100 m2. Due to its lower high-frequency sound
absorption – class C – it offers greater tone richness. |

 |
Has
sound absorption capacity only for low frequencies and is otherwise
a sound reflector – class E. Master gamma can be used in combination
with Master alpha in lecture halls with floor areas of more than 100
m2 (see Figure 3). It is sometimes also used to give fast feedback
to the speaker (see Figure 1). |

The
importance of good acoustics in schools and other places where good
acoustics are vital has been clearly documented by research projects
in Sweden (Lund University of Technology) and UK (Heriot-Watt University,
Edinburgh, Scotland). Tests have also determined that Master/alpha
is in a class of its own as regards promoting speech intelligibility
in a room.
