Good
cleanability and hygiene are traditionally associated with smooth,
glossy and hard materials. But the opposite – soft and porous
materials – are usually needed to absorb sound. With Ecophon
Hygiene we have succeeded in optimising the combination of good cleanability
and good acoustic performance. |

The
Hygiene absorbers have a cleanroom classification in accordance with
US Federal Standard 209 E and corresponds to class 2.5/10, which means
that the permissible particle concentration is 10 particles per cubic
foot. By way of comparison, 10 000 particles per cubic foot are permissible
in operating theatres and good outdoor air normally has a concentration
of 1,000000 particles per cubic foot. |

Hygiene
tiles and panels have also been tested at the TNO Food preparation
and Nutrition Research institute in the Netherlands for microbiological
growth, microbiological permeability and the occurrence of biocides.
They are recommended for installation in environments in which strict
demands are made on the hygienic standard. |
